1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs the use of the Iqidis legal AI services, website at https://iqidis.ai, and any related applications or services (collectively, the “Services”), provided by Iqidis, Inc. (“Iqidis,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It forms part of the Iqidis Terms of Service (“ToS”) and is incorporated therein by reference. Capitalized terms used but not defined herein shall have the meanings ascribed to them in the ToS.

Iqidis is committed to providing a secure, reliable, and ethically grounded platform designed to assist legal professionals. This AUP outlines the rules and guidelines for using the Services responsibly and ethically. Adherence to this AUP is essential for maintaining the integrity of the Services and protecting all users.

AI Processing Note: As detailed in the Iqidis Privacy Policy, our AI technology processes User Content in real-time. Iqidis does not use User Content to train its own or third-party AI models. User Content processed by the AI system is not retained for AI model training purposes. Iqidis may access User Content only for the limited purposes outlined in the Privacy Policy, such as providing customer support and ensuring service operation. All users are reminded that AI-generated Output requires independent professional review and verification.

2. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use, nor permit any third party to use, the Services in any manner that violates applicable laws, the ToS, or this AUP. Prohibited uses include, but are not limited to, the following:

2.1. Illegal or Unlawful Activities:

  • Engaging in any activity that violates any applicable local, state, national, federal, or international law, regulation, or ordinance.
  • Promoting, facilitating, or enabling illegal acts or the distribution of illegal goods or services.
  • Infringing upon or violating the intellectual property rights (including copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets) or other proprietary rights of Iqidis or any third party.

2.2. Harmful or Deceptive Practices:

  • Transmitting or distributing viruses, worms, Trojan horses, malware, spyware, adware, or any other malicious or harmful code.
  • Engaging in phishing, pharming, spoofing, or other fraudulent or deceptive schemes.
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Services, other user accounts, or Iqidis’s computer systems or networks through hacking, password mining, or any other means.
  • Interfering with, disrupting, or creating an undue burden on the Services or the networks or services connected to the Services.
  • Impersonating any person or entity, or falsely stating or otherwise misrepresenting your affiliation with a person or entity.

2.3. Offensive or Inappropriate Content:

  • Generating, transmitting, distributing, or storing content that is defamatory, libelous, obscene, pornographic, abusive, threatening, harassing, hateful, or discriminatory based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Promoting or glorifying violence, terrorism, or self-harm.

2.4. Misuse of the Services:

  • Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code, underlying ideas, algorithms, structure, or organization of the Services, except as permitted by law.
  • Using the Services to build a competitive product or service, or copying any features, functions, or graphics of the Services.
  • Using the Services for benchmarking, load testing, or monitoring the availability, performance, or functionality of the Services without prior written consent from Iqidis.
  • Automating access to the Services through means other than officially supported APIs or interfaces, or engaging in scraping or excessive automated use.
  • Circumventing or attempting to circumvent any usage limits, security measures, or restrictions implemented by Iqidis.
  • Using the Services in a manner that constitutes the unauthorized practice of law or providing legal advice if not qualified and licensed to do so in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Using fake or deceptive identities or credentials: Registering for or accessing the Services using fake names, impersonated identities, or temporary/disposable emails to test, analyze, or evaluate Iqidis’s Services or performance without express written authorization. This includes posing as clients, students, or legal professionals for the purpose of conducting unauthorized benchmarking, reverse engineering, or competitive analysis.

3. Responsible Use and Professional Obligations

The Services are designed as assistive tools for legal professionals. Users are expected to utilize the Services responsibly and in accordance with the highest professional and ethical standards.

3.1. Professional Judgment:

Users must exercise independent professional judgment when using the Services. The Output generated by the Services is not a substitute for legal expertise, analysis, or advice.

3.2. Verification:

Users are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and validating the accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness of all Output generated by the Services before relying on it, incorporating it into work product, or providing advice based upon it.

3.3. Ethical Compliance:

Users must ensure their use of the Services complies with all applicable rules of professional conduct, ethical guidelines, and legal obligations in their relevant jurisdictions, including but not limited to duties of competence, diligence, confidentiality, and communication.

3.4. Confidentiality and Privilege:

Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of client information and preserving attorney-client privilege when using the Services. Avoid inputting unnecessarily sensitive or privileged information. Refer to the Iqidis Privacy Policy and ToS for details on data handling.

3.5. Appropriate Use Cases:

Users should primarily leverage the Services for tasks related to legal work, such as legal research, document drafting assistance, analysis, summarization, and case management support, always subject to professional oversight.

3.6. Security Practices and Incident Reporting:

Users must implement reasonable security practices when accessing the Services, including safeguarding credentials, using strong passwords, and enabling available security features such as multi-factor authentication (MFA) where provided. Users must promptly notify Iqidis if they suspect or become aware of any unauthorized access to their account, compromise of their credentials, or other potential security incident involving their use of the Services.

4. Enforcement and Consequences of Violations

Iqidis reserves the right, but does not assume the obligation, to monitor use of the Services to ensure compliance with this AUP and the ToS. Violations of this AUP may result in Iqidis taking one or more of the following actions, with or without notice:

  • Issuing a warning to the User.
  • Suspending the User’s access to the Services.
  • Terminating the User’s Account and access to the Services in accordance with the ToS.
  • Removing or disabling access to prohibited content or materials.
  • Reporting the activity to law enforcement, regulatory authorities, or other appropriate third parties.
  • Pursuing legal action against the User.

Iqidis will determine, in its sole discretion, whether a violation of this AUP has occurred.

4.1 Monitoring and Technical Auditing

Iqidis reserves the right to monitor and log technical information about user interactions with the Services, including but not limited to IP addresses, device identifiers, access timestamps, and registration metadata. These logs may be used to detect and prevent abuse, enforce this AUP and the Terms of Service, and safeguard the platform from unauthorized or deceptive use.

5. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please promptly report it to Iqidis by contacting us at: info@iqidis.ai. We will investigate reports and take appropriate action.

6. Modifications to this AUP

Iqidis reserves the right to modify this AUP at any time by posting a revised version on its website or by notifying Users via email or through the Services, consistent with the modification provisions in the ToS. By continuing to access or use the Services after the effective date of any modifications, you agree to be bound by the revised AUP.
